William Maema
William Maema Partner at IKM Advocates, a member of DLA Piper Africa, with over 26 years post qualification experience. He is a data protection and privacy expert and has advised both local and international clients on data protection and privacy, cybercrimes and the effect of the GDPR on businesses operating in Kenya.
William also advises clients on technology and telecoms matters including fintech, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, data analytics and governance, digital transformation, internet of things (IoT)/5G, telecoms infrastructure and MVNOs to name a few.
William has distinguished himself as a thought leader and regularly writes articles on topical legal issues affecting businesses, including pieces on the Kenya Data Protection Act, GDPR, employment and intellectual property which are published in the local mainstream print and online media –principally the Business Daily and the Daily Nation.
