Lanre Akinlagun
Lanre Akinlagun is a Nigerian businessman best known as the founder of the E-Commerce site Drinks.ng. Born in London, England, on April 26, Lanre Akinlagun became involved in Tech Space as a college student, this were his formative years within the tech space graduating in Marketing and Multimedia, before joining Universal Pictures followed by a number of digital marketing agencies before finally settling at IBM. After a successful career in the digital advertising space he joined the executive team of iROKOtv which brought him back to Africa and eventually commencing in the launch of drinks.ng.
In March 2013 Lanre Launched drinks.ng the first E-commerce pure play beverage platform in Nigeria or anywhere across Africa at the time with the vision to bridge the gap between consumers and products predominating only available in larges quantities within the informal trade.
What Drinks.ng has now turned into is a Ubiquitous beverage platform spread across different sectors within the industry with the leading beverage platform for sales, educational blog, Industry first Specialist magazine and the widest data bank on consumer purchases and trends within the industry.
Today drinks.ng is one of very few starts who are profitable generating revenues in excess of $5m annually and partnerships with the industry heavy weights such as Diageo, Pernord Ricard, Moet, Hennessy and Many more. They have now also grown within other sectors of the industry with a foot print in e-commerce, Retail, Publication, Distribution and Data trade.
