Timothy Lambrechts is an entrepreneur with broad experience in digital monetization and go to market strategies across Africa and The Middle East. He’s worked with leading players in digital media including Google and Truecaller – one of the most downloaded apps on the Google Play store. He consults to global businesses in areas of digital monetization and transformation.

He served as the CEO and Co Founder of The Mobi Hunter and built an active audience network of 30 million users with the leading publishers across Africa. The aim was to connect the dots between digital marketing brand objectives and suitable audiences. In terms of research and development he’s worked with partners in Lagos-Nigeria- to monetize 10,000 free hotspots. In South Africa, he helped monetize the Tshwane free wifi with Project Isizwe. Both projects in Nigeria and South Africa were aimed at bridging the digital divide.

Prior to The Mobi Hunter he worked at Dimension Data-member of the NTT Group- where he managed tertiary institutions, Square Kilometer Array-SKA project and the CHPC-Centre for High Performance Computing. He worked closely with engineers and various business stakeholders in order to roll out large scale ICT infrastructure projects.

He’s also spent time in mobile gaming and social media when he worked at Maxxor-Microsoft Partner- which developed the highest grossing games on Mxit.  Mxit was one of the early Instant Messaging (IM) platforms in Africa.

Tim holds Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Information Systems from University of Cape Town and a degree in Public relations and Media studies from The Cape Peninsula University of technology. His final year paper at UCT looked at how tertiary institutions could share infrastructure services like cloud computing in order to achieve greater operational efficiency.

He believes that his family keeps him grounded amidst the many other areas which occupy his life. You will catch him either on a bike, running or swimming in his spare time or partaking in triathlon events
