Mumbi Ndung’u, is a visionary leader with over 10 years of experience in socio-economic development, social innovation, and impact communications. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Power Learn Project (PLP), Mumbi has been at the forefront of empowering African youth and shaping positive change across the continent.

Her remarkable achievements include being named by Empower Africa among the 35 trailblazers who shaped Africa’s tech landscape in 2023, including being nominated for the Africa Youth Awards and recognized as one of the Top 100 most influential young Africans.

As a social entrepreneur, Mumbi has founded impactful ventures addressing critical societal challenges. Through initiatives like Love Light 58, Ibua Africa, and Nora Impact, she has rehabilitated street families, empowered youth, and promoted financial inclusion in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Mumbi’s role as an adviser on Entrepreneurship and Unemployment to the United Nations Major Group on Children and Youth has played a pivotal role in advancing the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. She has represented Eastern Africa at the ECOSOC Forum at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, advocating for global issues affecting young people and women.

In 2021, Mumbi partnered with EMURGO Africa to establish the Power Learn Project, aiming to train one million software developers across 10 African countries by 2027.

Under her leadership, PLP has reached five African countries and trained over 10,000 young Africans, receiving accolades like the Zuri Awards under the STEM category and the Founder’s Award at the YES Summit.

Beyond her career, Mumbi’s dynamic personality and diverse interests, including mentorship, music, and golf, make her an inspiration. She serves as a Discerning Inspirer for The Global Martell Cognac campaign and has been selected as one of the Cannes Lion Jury for the Roger Hatchuel Academy of Creative Arts.

With academic achievements from institutions like Daystar University and the London School of Economics and Social Sciences, Mumbi is currently pursuing a Master in Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford.
