Lyndsay Handler

Lyndsay has over 19 years of leadership and venture-building experience in 15 countries across Africa in the clean energy, agriculture, education, and fintech sectors.

Currently, Lyndsay is Partner and Chief Venture Builder at Factor[e] Ventures, an impact-focused venture capital group where she is building the new Factor[e] Venture Studio and launching a new fund. The mission of the new Factor[e] Venture Studio is to build and invest in high-impact Energy, Agriculture, and Mobility ventures led by African and female founders that increase incomes and tackle climate change in Africa. Lyndsay is on the Board of several high-growth companies such as SunFi, Gridless, and Easy Solar, and is a Board observer with Ampersand.

Before Factor[e], Lyndsay served as the CEO of Fenix International, a next-generation energy company that delivered affordable clean power to millions of people with a team of over 1,000 employees in Uganda, Nigeria, Zambia, Ivory Coast, Benin, Nigeria, Mozambique, China, Paris, and Silicon Valley. In 2018, ENGIE, the world’s largest independent electricity producer, acquired Fenix and the company continues to grow under the ENGIE Energy Access brand.

Lyndsay has a BA in International Relations from Stanford University and is the recipient of several awards such as the Stanford Haas Center for Public Service Fellowship and the MTN Outstanding Women in Innovation Award. Outside of her day job, Lyndsay is a mother to two beautiful children Julia and Miles, and is passionate about creating communities that help people thrive.
