Lisa Karanja

Lisa Karanja is currently the Country Head, Kenya for the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change overseeing TBI’s center of government support in Kenya, primarily focused on the Office of the President and Ministry of Interior/Implementation Committee. She has an LLB from the University of Warwick and a Masters in Law and Development from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and is qualified as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Barrister-at-Law, Gray’s Inn, London.

Her previous work experience includes one year as the Orville Schell Fellow at Human Rights Watch, NY; three years as the Senior Law and Policy Advisor to the PS for Governance in the Office of the President under HE Mwai Kibaki; four years as both Deputy and Executive Director, Transparency-International Kenya and, most recently, eight years as Director for Private Sector and Civil Society, and Senior Director for Business Competitiveness, consecutively, at Trademark East Africa.
