Divine Muragijimana

A storyteller at heart, Divine has spent more than a decade and a half building brands and shaping brand narratives for growth-oriented businesses in Africa and the US. Divine serves as a Fractional CMO and strategy consultant for businesses and leaders needing strategy development, marketing advisory and capacity training for their marketing, HR  and growth teams.

Most recently, she served as the Vice President of Brand and Product Marketing at Africa’s leading payments brand, Cellulant. She established the first in-house marketing team in the organisation in 2015 and, during her tenure, was instrumental in launching Cellulant’s first consumer brands – Mula and Tingg, consequently launching what was then one of Africa’s early super Apps.

Before that, Divine managed a marketing and branding consultancy in New York City. She served as a brand and communication consultant to Africa-focused businesses and brand advisor to top-tier universities such as MIT, Harvard, Columbia, and NYU on their Africa-based and Africa-centric programs. She also has extensive experience in media as an editor. Notably, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of Applause Africa, a renowned Pan-African magazine.In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, travelling, hosting game nights, and preparing a mean meal every now and then.
