Christian Duffus
Christian (“Chris”) Duffus is an entrepreneur and fintech expert, currently serving as the founder and CEO of Fonbnk, a global onramp to Web3 that uses prepaid airtime as a medium of exchange to target mobile-first, cash-based economies. He is a leading fintech and telecom expert and Web3 advisor with a significant background in working with innovative finance, technology, and policy organizations.
Duffus has a successful track record as an entrepreneur and fintech expert, having exited three fintech startups, including LEAF College Savings (acquired by SoFi), Vite.money (acquired by RoundlyX), and Govolution (Acquired by First American Payments). Before starting his own companies, Duffus worked with several venture-backed start-ups in the fintech and wireless industries, raising nearly $50+ million from top-tier VC firms. He also served as the deputy CEO of Finance and Administration for the 2008 Democratic National Convention Committee in Denver, Colorado. He began his career with Goldman Sachs in mergers and acquisitions.
Duffus graduated from Florida A&M University and the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. He currently serves as a member of the Alumni Board of Trustees. He also served as a National Educators Association Foundation board member and on the investment and development committees.
