Proparco Invests €250,000 in EdenCare to Expand Digital Health Insurance in East Africa

Proparco is providing a USD-equivalent financing of EUR 250,000 to EdenCare, Rwanda’s first licensed digital health insurer. The investment will support the company’s expansion in Rwanda and Kenya and accelerate the deployment of its technology platform, helping modernise health insurance systems and improve access to healthcare coverage for underserved populations across East Africa.

Founded to address the structural inefficiencies of the region’s health insurance market, EdenCare operates as a primary health insurer, offering digital health coverage solutions tailored to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), while also developing a B2B SaaS platform designed for other insurance providers.
