Additionally, Bernard founded Qala, now known as Btrust Builders, an initiative focused on developing Bitcoin technical talent across Africa and Asia. In 2023, Qala was acquired by Jack Dorsey and Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter’s Bitcoin Trust Fund. Under Bernard’s leadership, Qala grew to become one of the largest training programs for Bitcoin developers, training over 200 developers, some of whom now contribute to Bitcoin Core development. Bernard’s vision helped secure funding from notable organizations like the Human Rights Foundation, Chaincode Labs, Coinbase, and Gemini.
