
Jason Carmichael

Jason-Louis Carmichael is a Canadian health systems and technology entrepreneur based in Nairobi, and the Executive Chairman and Co-founder of TIBU Health, a venture-backed primary care and diagnostics platform operating in Kenya.
He founded TIBU in 2019 and led the company as CEO through its early scale-up, growing it to six physical locations, 75+ staff, and profitability, while pioneering Kenya’s first collocated, “CVS-style” Minute Clinics within partner pharmacies.
Jason has over a decade of experience leading large-scale health programs across Africa, including senior roles with the World Health Organization in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, and Guinea, where he managed complex emergency and health system strengthening programs with budgets exceeding USD 90 million. His work spans public health, supply chain and logistics, digital health, and health system operations in low-resource settings.
He holds a Master of Public Health from the University of British Columbia and currently focuses on governance, strategy, and capital formation at TIBU Health as the company prepares for its next phase of growth.
