Idorenyin Obong, a Nigerian-born software engineer and entrepreneur residing in the US, is the CEO and co-founder of Grey Inc. Grey, a Y Combinator-backed fintech company that is at the forefront of providing secure and convenient global banking solutions. Recognizing the growing demand for seamless international money transfers, Idorenyin and his co-founder, Femi Aghedo, identified a gap in the market and set out to revolutionize how freelancers, remote workers, and businesses manage their finances across borders. Grey’s innovative platform streamlines foreign payments, making sending and receiving money internationally easier and faster.
Prior to his entrepreneurial venture, Idorenyin honed his expertise in the fintech industry through a series of pivotal roles. His tenure as Senior Flutter Engineer at Busha saw him play a key role in developing cutting-edge financial solutions. This experience provided him with a deep understanding of building scalable and user-friendly financial applications. Previously, as an Android Engineer at Paystack, a leading Nigerian fintech company, Idorenyin gained valuable insights into the complexities of digital payments and security. He further solidified his technical leadership skills by serving as a Technical Lead at Yellowcard App, demonstrating his ability to manage and motivate engineering teams.
Idorenyin’s academic foundation in Computer Science, obtained from the University of Cross River State, Nigeria, equipped him with the technical skills necessary to excel in software engineering. His passion for technology and entrepreneurial spirit fuel his drive to create innovative solutions within the fintech space.
