Fincra is financial institution grade FX and cross border payment infrastructure for Africa. Banks, corporates and global payment businesses collect and pay out locally across the continent through one API.
Profile
Fincra Technologies Limited builds financial institution grade FX and cross border payment infrastructure for Africa. The company started in 2021. It gives banks, corporates and global payment businesses one API to collect and pay out in local currency across the continent.
Fincra operates in more than 20 African markets. The payout network reaches more than 150 countries. The platform supports NGN, GHS, KES, ZAR, USD, GBP and EUR. It connects to local rails, which include bank transfers, cards, mobile money and instant payment schemes.
Fincra serves institutions, not consumers. Customers include African and global banks, payment service providers and aggregators, remittance businesses, crypto exchanges and OTC desks, travel and e-commerce platforms, FX brokers, telcos and mobile wallet operators, and corporates in oil and gas, mining, commodities and agriculture.
Licences and approvals: Payment Service Solution Provider licence from the Central Bank of Nigeria;Enhanced Payment Service Provider licence from the Bank of Ghana, May 2026;Payment Service Provider licence in Canada, March 2026;and licences in South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania. The Canadian licence lets Fincra hold funds for end users, keep accounts, start electronic funds transfers, and support clearing and settlement. It opens the Africa to Canada corridor.
The platform has held 99.95% uptime since January 2022. It processes millions of API requests each month.
Fincra’s mission is to build the rails for an integrated Africa. What makes Fincra different is regulatory depth plus one integration. A customer signs one contract and connects to one API. The customer does not need a separate partner, a separate licence and a separate reconciliation process in every market.
