Katlego is the co-founder and CEO of Yoco, an African technology company that builds tools and services to help small businesses get paid, run their business better, and grow. Yoco offers card payment acceptance, point-of-sale software and capital.
He drives the company’s expansion/market development, customer experience and organisational development elements. The belief is that by opening up more possibilities for entrepreneurs to be successful, more jobs can be created, enabling people to thrive and help to drive economies forward.
Back in 2012 while having lunch in San Francisco at a small hole in the wall eatery, that he assumed would not be able to process a card payment, a mobile card reader was presented to him. This encounter planted the seed that led to Yoco’s start. Yoco launched out of beta in October 2015 and the venture has since acquired over 42 000+ merchants across all corners of South Africa.
