Move money across borders. A smarter way to move, grow and manage business money — Bitcoin, stablecoin and fiat rails with $4.6B+ processed.
Profile
Bitnob is a financial technology company using Bitcoin and stablecoin infrastructure to power cross-border money movement for individuals and businesses across Africa and beyond. Founded in Lagos in 2020 by Bernard Parah — a prominent voice in Africa’s Bitcoin ecosystem — Bitnob has processed over $4.6 billion, built on five years of operations, SOC 2 Type II, ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and NDPR certifications, and a network of licensed financial institution partners.
Bitnob’s core insight is that Bitcoin’s Lightning Network and stablecoins can make remittances and cross-border payments instant and dramatically cheaper — a significant lever in Africa, where remittances are a major source of foreign exchange and heavy fees drain value. Its landmark partnership with Jack Mallers’ Strike brought instant “Send Globally” transfers from the US into Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya over Lightning. Today the platform serves every stage of business: enterprises settling suppliers across multiple countries and holding reserves in digital dollars; merchants getting paid in minutes from customers anywhere in the world; and developers embedding wallets, payouts and money movement into their own products through Bitnob’s APIs — used by schools, online learning platforms, importers, and merchants (including a plug-in for accepting Bitcoin payments on Shopify). The result is practical financial inclusion: a small business owner in Nigeria can expand to Kenya or Rwanda because payments are solved. Backed by investors including LoftyInc Capital and Acuity Ventures, Bitnob pairs its infrastructure with deep community-driven developer education across the continent.
