Chris Baird lead’s DLA Piper’s London desk for African M&A and private equity. He has a wealth of experience in M&A and private equity across a broad range of sectors, including media and technology, agribusiness, consumer goods, energy & power and financial services.

Chris’ work sees him advising clients on cornerstone M&A and private equity transactions across Africa and Europe. Chris led the DLA Piper team advising pan-African FinTech service provider, Celluant Corporation, on its series C equity capital raising from The Rise Fund, Satya Capital and Endeavour Catalyst. The deal was named East Africa Private Equity Deal of the Year in 2018 by DealMakers Africa.

Chris is a regular speaker at industry events, particularly in relation to private equity in Sub-Saharan Africa and is a member of the legal and regulatory committee for both the African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.
