Adewale Opaleye

Born and raised in Ibadan, Nigeria, Adewale Opaleye founded Alerzo out of his desire to use technology to fix Nigeria’s informal retail ecosystem and improve the livelihood of informal retailers, majority of whom are women. Alerzo is a business-to-business e-commerce and financial technology platform serving informal retailers and micro businesses by using technology to solve most of the perennial problems associated with informal retail in Nigeria.

Adewale experienced firsthand the challenges that informal retailers go through while growing up in a family who are into FMCG retail.

His exposure to how digital B2B technology could help small and medium-sized businesses while studying in China further inspired him to seize the moment, return home and launch Alerzo.

As a serial entrepreneur since he was 16 years old, Adewale Opaleye had started multiple businesses prior to Alerzo, including a game studio that built and sold game source codes to game publishers.

Alerzo is currently serving over tens of thousands of micro-businesses spread across 13 states in Nigeria.
