Ido Sum

Ido Sum is co-founder of AfricAI Group, an AI operating partner for African corporates. Positioned as the context layer between world-class AI and African enterprise reality, AfricAI works with banks, conglomerates, FMCGs, retailers and private equity firms to turn proprietary, locally rooted data into commercial advantage.

Ido brings two decades of experience across African technology. Previously a Partner at TLcom Capital, he has served on the boards of fintech, edtech, martech, and healthtech companies in Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt and South Africa, with portfolio associations including Littlefish, uLesson, Kobo360, and Zone. He is also a two-time founder.

Alongside AfricAI, Ido writes regularly on Substack covering in depth the African tech and venture capital ecosystem, as well as AI.

Ido holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Tel Aviv University.
