Aaron Fu

Aaron Fu leads early-stage fintech investing at the Digital Currency Group, part of the DCG Expeditions team supporting fintech & crypto founders on their journeys to build the next generation of financial services.

Prior to DCG, he was a Partner at emerging market inclusive tech focused Catalyst Fund, the Managing Director of MEST, Africa’s Largest Pre-Seed Incubator, and Managing Partner for Africa atNest.vc, a Hong Kong based venture fund, which he joined after a career in financial services.

He also co-founded the Obuntu Foundation, a fellowship for 1st time Africa GPs which in 2024 admitted 24 fellows, 58% female, 100% African citizens with over 200m in target AUM, he was also a founding partner in Africa focused founder backed pre-seed fund Sherpa Ventures, and co-founded Venture for Africa, a platform for talent on the continent and beyond to gain experience and build careers with early stage African startups.
