Tarek Mouganie
Tarek Mouganie is the founder of Affinity, a fully-fledged digitally driven bank that provides fair and accessible financial services to the underserved and unbanked, targeting eight out of the seventeen UN SDGs. Affinity has built a tech platform for both digital natives and low fidelity users, enabling 24/7 banking services to all individuals and MSMEs at a low cost.
Tarek is also the creator of Front/Back, a social venture that nurtures and promotes music and art from Africa and its diaspora. Prior to Affinity, Tarek was a Director at Man Group (GLG Partners) and began his career as an academic at the University of Cambridge where he obtained his PhD.
Tarek is passionate about entrepreneurship and the creative industries as a way of supporting social and economic development. He is on the board of 1-54, the largest African contemporary art fair and Greene Light Stage (Old Vic Productions) in London. Tarek is the co-founder and former CEO of the Ghana Triathlon Federation, and was the Honorary Consul of Cape Verde in Ghana, nominated by Mo Ibrahim Prize Laureate, HE Pedro Pires.
