Selma Ribica

Selma Ribica is a tech entrepreneur, VC investor and a veteran of the African FinTech industry.  Now based out of Casablanca, Selma is managing First Circle Capital’s Fund I is a female-led, Africa based specialist early-stage fund investing in the most promising Fintech opportunities throughout Africa.

As an early executive at M-Pesa, she was in charge of expansion and product innovation. After that, Selma founded, scaled and sold a FinTech business in London, serving underbanked migrants. Selma Ribica has been an active angel investor since 2015, and her angel portfolio is at 33X MOIC in early stage fintech and includes companies such as Qonto (France $5bn valued in 2022), Expensya (Tunisia sold to Medius in 2023).

In 2017 she moved back to Africa and helped build one of the first VC funds in Africa, Africinvest Cathay Innovation Fund, then moved onto building First Circle Capital in 2021. She serves on board of fintech businesses in the region and advises prominent venture capital investors in Africa.
