Maya built one of the first non-custodial on/offramping P2P protocols for Africa and is an advocate for localisation & web3 for emerging markets. She has delivered workshops and spoken widely on this topic for the likes of Developer DAO and FinTech Insider by 11:FS.
Maya is very active in helping (web3) African startups obtain foreign investment, having done so for the likes of Nestcoin and Afropolitan DAO.
Maya also has significant experience building and helping companies scale into markets across S.E.Asia, East Africa, MENA and West Africa in sectors including web3, e-commerce, fintech and mobile money. She successfully helped the African neobank Carbon expand into Kenya, consulted a Tanzanian telecom build mobile money products for the Muslim community and led a tech unicorn’s expansion into the Arabic-speaking world.
