Akinyinka Akintunde
Akinyinka is the President/CEO of AFEX Nigeria, a unique role where he provides in-country oversight and leadership of AFEX business entities to help accelerate operational excellence, growth, and Go-to-Market transformation through strategic platforms and partnerships. He is an accomplished executive with global business-building experience with AFEX operations across Africa. In his role, he is responsible for driving innovation and leading performance across the financial and capital market ecosystem.
Akinyinka has an excellent track record of leading companies through growth. Before taking up his current role, he was the Chief Operating Officer at AFEX, a position he significantly engineered AFEX’s strategic direction, employee roadmap, technology, and development efforts, and spearhead the firm’s endeavor to leverage technology to transform the commodities exchange ecosystem in Nigeria whilst using innovative human-centered approaches in developing products that are set to transform the investing landscape of the continent.
A hallmark of his leadership is a core belief that culture drives success, and self-disruption is the best way to win in the market and serve clients. He bagged his MBA from Lagos Business School and has a Certificate in Corporation Innovation from Stanford Graduate School of Business, California. He specializes in strategy, finance, capital markets, product development, and business technology.
