Amir Barsoum has pioneered the health-tech space in emerging markets, as the Founder and CEO of Vezeeta, a digital healthcare powerhouse that serves and empowers patients in every step of their health journey. Vezeeta holds a diversified product portfolio that spans from a doctors’ appointments booking platform to teleconsultations, online medication ordering and delivery along with other digital healthcare solutions.
Under his leadership, Vezeeta has introduced many transformational tech-enabled healthcare solutions across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Nigeria and Kenya, serving over 6 million patients and approaching 1 million bookings/orders per month. As one of the region’s fastest growing health-tech company, Vezeeta has raised more than US$60 million in funds to become a digital healthcare concierge that is fast-expanding its reach and impact.
In his former roles as a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Co. and Head of Strategy at AstraZeneca, Amir served several entities in public and private sectors in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Amir is a member on the Board of Directors of Endeavor Egypt. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, and an MBA from MIT Sloan. Amir was recognized as one of Fortune’s 40 under 40 Healthcare leaders in 2020.
