Co-founder & Group Director, Special Projects Paga

Jay Alabraba is the co-founder and Group Director, Special Projects. Before founding Paga, Jay was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in New York and later led an M&A unit at BGL Plc in Lagos.

Earlier in his career, Jay was a program manager at Microsoft, where he received several patent awards for his team’s work in the anti-piracy and software protection arenas. He later accepted a fellowship at Eli Lilly where he managed pharmaceutical marketing projects in North America and Europe. In 2018, Jay was named an Endeavor Entrepreneur in recognition of Paga’s impact and his contributions to the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Africa.

Jay is a sector-agnostic angel investor and advisor to several startups. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering, graduating cum laude, from The Ohio State University, and an MBA from Stanford University. Jay is a Fellow of the 2021 class of the Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
