Tonia Mutiso
Tonia Mutiso is a lawyer with over 23 years of experience in law, human resources, and marketing within the technology sector. She is currently the Managing Consultant at Tellistic Technology Services (K) (now Astra Nova Ventures), a capacity-building organization supporting technology startups across Africa.
Previously, she served as the Chief Marketing Officer for GE Healthcare Africa, where she spearheaded growth through strategic investments in the public and private sectors. Before that, she spent 20 years at Microsoft Africa, holding key leadership roles, including:
• Chief Marketing Officer for Microsoft 4Afrika, where she focused on empowering African youth, catalyzing the startup ecosystem, and supporting small and growing businesses to drive economic growth.
• HR Director for Microsoft East and Southern Africa, overseeing human capital strategy and leadership development.
Beyond the corporate sector, Tonia has played a pivotal role in public governance. She is a former Board Member and Chair of the HR Committee at the Communications Authority of Kenya. She currently serves as a Board Member at the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority (NIFCA) and Chair of the Technical Committee of the Board, shaping Kenya’s financial and investment landscape and develeping policies and initiatives that attract global and regional investments into the country.
