Soji Sanyaolu

Founder & CEO of AirSmat

Soji Sanyaolu is a mission-driven entrepreneur using technology to tackle Africa’s biggest challenges in agriculture and climate. As the founder and CEO of AirSmat, he’s leading the development of AI-powered solutions that not only help farmers boost yields and restore soil health but also drive scalable carbon removal efforts by transforming farmlands into data-backed carbon projects across the continent.

Through AnyFarm, AirSmat’s digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) platform, Soji is empowering carbon project developers to digitally capture and validate each step of biochar production creating the traceability needed for third-party verification and unlocking trusted, verifiable carbon credits. This process makes it easier to scale carbon projects and open new income streams for farmers across Africa.

His bold vision is to scale carbon removal across Africa by democratising the production of high-quality biochar from end-of-life waste to regenerate the soil, sequester carbon, and improving farmers’ livelihoods. Under his leadership, AirSmat is not only advancing soil health and mitigating climate change but also turning farmlands into viable carbon projects, creating new income opportunities for African farmers through access to carbon credits.

Recognised for his leadership in climate innovation, Soji is driving a bold vision at the intersection of AI and agriculture, leading a team that’s using data and technology to supercharge carbon removal, scale climate-smart farming, and position African agriculture as a force for climate action.
