Damy Layode studied Civil Engineering at Covenant University, and has a career spanning marketing communications, business development, digital strategy, and transformation. He is currently the CEO at Glover app (Glover Technologies), Africa’s leading Digital Assets Marketplace.
Layode previously served as the Head of Strategy and Partnership at Patricia Technologies where he drove Pan-African expansion with a focus on Regulatory Compliance and Enhancing product capabilities. In this role, he collaborated with various business verticals to gain market share and by doing so, positively impacted revenue and business performance.
In his career trajectory spanning over a decade – the latter part of which has seen him work extensively within the Tech and Startup scene, Mr. Layode has held numerous leadership positions. Before his role at Patricia Technologies, he had brief stints with Big Cabal Media as a Senior Partnership Manager, and Kobo360 where he held the positions of Operations Analyst, responsible for scaling Kobo’s VAS service, KoboCare, which is targeted at Kobo’s Transport Partners.
Before these, he held the position of Manager, Growth, and Marketing at OPay where he was responsible for planning and executing the launch campaign for ORide in Nigeria (Lagos), back in 2019. Here he was instrumental in the expansion efforts as he led the media buying charge for the business’ expansion into Ibadan. This was followed by further expansion work into key cities in Northern Nigeria (Kano, Kaduna, Zaria, Katsina and Sokoto), overseeing Operations, Marketing, and Government Relations for OPay’s operations in Northern Nigeria.
