By recognizing the untapped potential in the realm of smallholder livestock farming, my entrepreneurial journey began with a keen observation of a conspicuous gap in technology adoption. Small-scale farmers, despite being the backbone of our agricultural landscape, were often underserved in terms of technological solutions. Witnessing this void, we envisioned a venture committed to bridging this gap. Our mission is to empower these farmers by introducing tailored technologies, fostering efficiency, and contributing to the sustainable growth of the agriculture sector. Through innovation and dedication, we aim to catalyze positive transformations for both farmers and the broader agricultural landscape.
My work as a veterinarian in Kenya’s rural communities brings unique challenges, particularly in last-mile delivery of services, technology integration, and promoting best practices. Yet, by building trust, forging partnerships, and embracing flexible solutions, I continue to make progress. The journey is a collaborative effort with farmers, communities, and local organizations, each playing a role in ensuring healthier livestock, sustainable livelihoods, and a stronger agricultural sector for Kenya. In the face of ongoing challenges, I am reminded daily of the resilience and potential of smallholder farmers and the significant impact that accessible, quality veterinary care can have on their lives and their communities.
