This session explores and unpacks the intricacies of financing climate technology ventures in Africa. The panel collectively address the critical challenges and opportunities surrounding climate finance in the region and the necessity for varied funding sources – equity, debt, and concessional capital – to adequately support the burgeoning climate-focused businesses in Africa.

Key themes emerged, emphasizing the significance of proven technologies, effective execution strategies, market alignment, and robust unit economics in attracting investments. The pivotal role of DFIs was also highlighted, particularly in their capacity to provide enabling capital that can catalyze private sector investments in climate solutions.

Africa Tech Summit Nairobi 2025 celebrated its 7th edition on February 12th and 13th at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi.
