Tayo Odunsi
Tayo Odunsi is a seasoned business strategist and operator with about two decades of practical experience in the African real estate and technology markets, ranging from real estate development, finance, investment and affordable housing. He has advised and transacted with organizations such as the IMF, Actis, Total Closed Pension Fund, SFS REIT, UPDC REIT, Sterling Bank, ARM, and Urban Shelter.
In February 2024, after few months of strategic incubation, Build Africa which he founded commenced and generated over $1M revenue in 6 months.
His previous role was at Northcourt which he founded in 2013 and exited 10 years later. Northcourt is the leading real estate research and advisory company in Nigeria which has won several awards for the stellar research and advisory mandates with clients ranging from DFIs, Pension Funds, International and Local investment and development companies. He has also worked at ARM Investment Managers, GTHomes and FBN Capital and served as the Chairman, Independent Board Investment Committee of SFS REIT – the first real estate investment trust listed on the Nigeria stock exchange between 2020 and 2024.
Tayo holds a BSc. in Estate management from the University of Lagos, MSc. Real estate finance and investment from the Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK and MBA from the Imperial College London.
He is the author of the book – “Affordable: Thinking differently and critically about affordable housing” and maintains a strong passion for affordable housing in Africa.
