His entrepreneurial career started when he and his brother, Shaazim, founded Hello Group in 2005. Hello Paisa, the largest independent money transfer operator in South Africa is part of the Hello Group. Hello Paisa was launched in March 2015 and offers low-income migrants in SA the opportunity to send money home.
Recently, the brothers launched Bedlam Inc., a company that works with inspired people to develop and successfully launch businesses. Bedlam Inc. invests in or starts technology-based businesses that have the potential to transform existing industries with a particular focus on Africa and Asia.
