Erik Nygard is a seasoned energy markets expert with over 16 years of experience in energy trading, optimization, and technology-driven solutions. He is the Founder & CEO of Kofa, a company dedicated to accelerating clean energy access across Africa by developing innovative, sustainable solutions that break free from traditional energy constraints.
Before founding Kofa, Erik co-founded and led Limejump, a pioneering UK-based energy technology firm specialising in optimising distributed energy assets. Under his leadership, Limejump became a market leader in real-time energy trading and was acquired by Shell in 2019, a testament to its transformative impact on the energy sector.
Prior to Limejump, Erik built a strong foundation in electricity trading and optimization, holding key roles at Centrica and Hudson Energy, where he honed his expertise in energy market dynamics and strategic asset management.
Erik holds a Master of Science in Energy, Trade, and Finance from Cass Business School, equipping him with a deep understanding of global energy economics and market trends.
