Proud joined the Facebook Strategic Platform Partnerships team in 2016. In his role, he works with entrepreneurs and startups in Sub-Saharan Africa to create value by leveraging Facebook’s platform products. His passion is to aid the digital transformation of African business to unlock sustainable economic growth. He also collaborates with technology leaders in the region to help develop and expand the tech ecosystem.
Before joining Facebook, Proud worked for an online media company, AllAfrica Global Media, for 9 years as the head of business and software development. Originally based in the Washington DC head office, Proud moved to Cape Town where he was involved in expanding AllAfrica’s operations in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Proud is a Zimbabwean national and holds a BA in Economics from Harvard University.
