Nshuti Mbabazi

Nshuti Mbabazi serves as Assistant Vice President, Push Payments for Ecobank Group, overseeing all aspects of the bank’s mobile payments strategy and implementation across 33 African countries where Ecobank operates.

Prior to Ecobank, Nshuti served as country manager for Rwanda, Burundi and Malawi for Visa overseeing operations in these countries. Prior to this role, she led the coordination of Visa – Government of Rwanda (GoR) Public Private Partnership initiatives 2011 – 2015, established to lay the foundation for digitization of Rwanda’s economy and financial inclusion. She was also part of a team of seven who led the mVISA pilot in Rwanda.

Prior to Visa, Nshuti was Policy and Strategy Advisor to the Head of Information Technology at Rwanda Development Board (RDB/IT), the coordinating and implementing body of all Government of Rwanda ICT initiatives. While at RDB she led the development of Rwanda’s National ICT Plan (2011 – 2015) whose initiatives are driving Rwanda’s transformation into the envisioned 2020 vision of an ICT driven society.

Nshuti is President of Girls in ICT Rwanda, serves as Vice Chairperson, Broadband Systems Corporation (BSC) board as well as Rwanda Information and Communications Technology Association (RICTA). Nshuti is serves as Board Chair, Leo Africa Institute.

Nshuti holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Laroche College and, a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
