Nathalie Munyampenda is the Managing Director of the Next Einstein Forum (NEF), an initiative of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS). The NEF is driving Africa’s scientific agenda through the premier science and innovation conference on the continent as well as organizing a coordinated Africa Science Week in over 35 countries.
As part of making science more accessible, Nathalie is Editor-in-chief of the NEF’s public magazine, Scientific African Magazine. Nathalie is also the global communications lead for the AIMS Group. AIMS believes the next Einstein will be African.
Nathalie is a passionate advocate for science-driven innovation and tech transfer as a means for industrialization and job creation in Africa. She is also passionate about empowering young women as leaders of today and tomorrow, particularly female scientists and engineers.
Prior to joining the NEF, Nathalie worked in the Canadian public service and international social media consulting before working to build the Government of Rwanda’s central communication unit as Coordinator (DG) in the Office of the Government Spokesperson.
Nathalie holds an Honours in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa and a Master’s in Strategic Communications from Seton Hall University.
