Kamal Bhattacharya
Dr. Kamal Bhattacharya is currently Chief Innovation Officer at Safaricom, responsible for Safaricom’s newly established Innovation unit. He has been working in R&D over the last two decades, and has spent the majority of his career at IBM Research.
During his time in Kenya he has setup IBM Research – Africa, was interim CEO of the iHub Nairobi and started the International Growth Center (IGC). He is currently also a senior lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Kamal has worked across four continents, published 50+ academic papers, filed 20+ patents and holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics.
